Lucy Cavender
Lucy has watched the changing face of Beijing through her viewfinder for many years, first as a student in the mid 1980s and then since moving here with her family in 1997. She has lived and worked in Asia for sixteen years, including two years in Mongolia, employed by a leading London photo agency. Two years ago she was given an old Hassleblad which she has used to develop her skills as portrait photographer using black and white film, natural light, and Beijing as her backdrop. Her subjects have included many well-known writers, artists and business people. Many of her photos have been used in books and on promotional materials.
